August 1, 2009 The Carleton Place BIA Presents BRIDGE ST. BAZAAR IN DOWNTOWN CARLETON PLACE PRESS RELEASEThe Carleton Place Business Improvement Association (BIA) wishes to invite one and all to come to Carleton Place on Saturday August 1st and take part in one huge community extravaganza. In what is being called The Bridge Street Bazaar! Organizers hope to showcase the downtown area of this colourful and historical town. It promises to be an opportunity for you to; shop for some good deals, set up a table yourself, or take in some top notch local entertainment. The Carleton Place BIA hopes that many folks will either participate, or come downtown that day and see for themselves all that downtown Carleton Place has to offer. "When the BIA works together with the community, great events happen. Not just from a business point of view but also from the position of building community and community spirit. The entire downtown section of Bridge Street will be closed off to vehicular traffic as both vendors and merchants alike will display and sell their wares. Included also will be a day long schedule of local entertainment which will feature many of Carleton Place's many talented; musicians, mascots, dancers, etc. It should be noted that all of this entertainment is free of charge and there will be many other things and people to see such as; The Kidz Zone, jewelers, pottery, painting artisans, a boat display, farmers market and more. A full line up of local entertainment only to mention a few. This event coincides with the ever growing and successful Riverside Jam Country Music Festival which runs the entire Civic Holiday Weekend from July 31st to August 2nd, on the banks of the Mississippi River. Organizers of the Riverside Jam think the idea of holding an event such as the Bridge Street Bazaar along with the Jam is just great. "It should be good for the downtown and is yet another good reason why folks should come here”. The Business Improvement Association would like to invite anyone interested in setting up a table to contact Cathie McOrmond (at $20 dollars a piece) (613) 257-8049 or email at cmcormond@carletonplace.ca and hopes to, "see you all 'downtown' in Carleton Place on August the 1st." |
